Kim Bach
Kim Bach inherited her interest in tea from her Mother who had a tea shop in Park City, Utah for more than 20 years. “We drank tea at home – mostly herbal varieties,” she says. “Being in the store, I got really interested in how this exotic drink became the most widely consumed beverage on the planet next to water. One plant variety could be several different drinks, spanning different growing regions and different cultures – developing really subtle differences in flavor. It’s fascinating.”
The shop keeper moved to Hudson from Brooklyn and opened her store in 2007. Both Verdigris and Kim quickly became fixtures in the community. She is a board member of a local non-profit and spends her off-hours painting in her studio. She has been an Artist in Residence at M.H. de Young Memorial Museum in San Francisco and at Yaddo in Saratoga.
